1. Are the Solar Panels easy to install?
Yes, we have produced Solar PV Panels that are very easy to install. With easy push and click connections, instructions and installation kit included (except adhesive) so you will be up and producing energy in no time. With some of the panels weighing the same as a bag of sugar they are very portable as well.
2. What Solar Panel should I use?
The answer to this question has so many variables and answers, but the grid below has broken down the requirement by the number of appliances you will find in a motor home, caravan or boat using the leisure battery, and gives a recommended wattage solar panel you will need.
The number of appliances is in-addition to the lighting, sink/toilet pump and TV. This is because lighting, sink/toilet pump we see as a requirement. The TV on the other hand uses a lot of power so we feel this needs to be taken into account when choosing the correct solar panel.

3. Can I join or combine my solar panels to increase the energy I get?
The biggest benefit to using Energy Foundation Solar and PV panels is that you can join up as many panels are you want using either 2in1, 3in1 or 4in1 easy-fit S-S connector cables. This means if you have a 20w solar panel now, and 6 months down the line you want to increase you wattage to 40w you can save money and buy another 20w solar panel and connect the two together using a 2in1 S-S connector. Again if 6 months down the line you want to increase the wattage to 80w, you can by a 40w solar panel and connect to the previous two 20w panels using a 3in1 S-S connector. The possibilities are almost endless.
4. When do I need a charge control regulator?
You will need to use a charge control regulator usually for solar panels of 20w and over. This equates to 1w of output per 10Ah battery capacity to avoid over-charging of your battery. To be on the safe side we do recommend to fit a charge control regulator for solar panels from 10w.
5. Will the battery be drained during night time?
All our solar panels have built in diodes which stops reverse charging. This means there will be no drain on your battery from the solar panel.
6. Are the Solar Panels durable?
We are so confident in the quality and durability of our Solar Panels we have given a 2 year warranty on all products and parts*.
The solar panels are of such good build quality that they can with stand being stood on with a soft soled shoe, and can be used in any weather condition.
7. Are the Solar Panels flexable?
Our solar PV panels are semi-flexible, which are a lot more reliable that flexible or mat like panels. The semi-flex means that they can be gently flexed to conform to moderately curved services unlike rigid panels but are rigid enough not to crack the elements. |
